  • Can't search for ".co.uk" and ".com" ??

On my forum we don't allow web addresses/links to be posted because we cannot monitor them to ensure they are still active or remain appropriate for our younger members - and even though a web address may be fine at the time of posting the content on any web site can change over time, and/or the domain name can change hands. We don't allow for web addresses in the form www.equine-world.co.uk, equine-world.co.uk, equine world dot co uk to be posted.

I can search for www.equine-world.co.uk or equine-world.co.uk and it will return results for posts containing this as part of a web address posted ie it finds a post containing a link to http://www.equine-world.co.uk/horses_care/rain_scald.htm. That's fine if I'm pyschic and know what web addresses my members may have posted on the forums - unfortunately though I'm not pyschic! If I simply search for ".co.uk" and ".com", etc as a way of locating ALL web addresses posted by members I get "Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms". Why does it not find the post containing http://www.equine-world.co.uk/horses_care/rain_scald.htm???

Search type is Fulltext and minimum word length is set to 2.

Fulltext has its own settings in the MySQL configuration which you might need to adjust.
