  • Can anyone help with this vBulletin/MySQL error?

    Hello all...I am relatively new to vBulletin and was wondering if anyone can help with this error message that I am getting...and I seem to be getting alot of them.

    Database error in vBulletin :

    mysql_connect() [<a href='function.mysql-connect'>function.mysql-connect</a>]: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (11)

    I am running a fairly large and active site (over 11,000 members and around 200 on the site 24x7) under v3.8.1 on a dedicated server. Any help that could be given would be much appreciated.

    Assuming the db info in your config.php file is correct, this is a server issue. Please see this page for the causes of this error:
