    getting ajax error

Like you I switched servers as well and did vb upgrade. Now search does not work correctly and the ajax error box pops-up with the mod_security and communication error Everything else appears to be working fine. Dumped cache from habit when making changes. I just purchased the forum so I do not know what the previous settings were.So what might the second step be?

I went through the list on that link you provided. Everything looked good except it won't let me create a new style. I just get a blank blue screen. It has to be something simple that we are missing.....

Would mod_security have anything to do with this? If so what would you change to the config of mod_security?

    Thanks,
    Itworx4me

I don't see anything offhand but there are a lot more potential causes in that link I provided.

There are a number of server issues that could cause that. Please see this for all the known causes of blank or 'white' pages:

    Ok,

I re-uploaded all files. Tried to click on suspect files and it comes up as a blank blue vbulletin screen. Still cannot search. I am thinking it is a server setting but just don't know which one would cause this. Any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Itworx4me

That does not happen with the default vB code. This is either from an add-on or a bad server move.

To troubleshoot this, first reupload all the original vB non-image files (except install.php). Make sure you upload these in ASCII format and overwrite the ones on the server. Also be sure to upload the admincp files to whichever directory you have set in your config.php file. Then run 'Suspect File Versions' in Diagnostics to make sure you have all the original files for your version and that none show 'File does not contain expected contents':

Admin CP -> Maintenance -> Diagnostics -> Suspect File Versions

[Note: In some cases you may also need to remove any of the listed .xml files in the includes/xml directory.]

    Next, disable all plugins.

Note: To temporarily disable the plugin system, edit config.php and add this line right under <?php

    define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true);

Then if you still have this problem, create a new style and choose no parent style. This will force it to use the default templates. Finally empty your browser cache, close all browser windows then try again. Make sure you change to the new style and view your forums with it.

Do you have the same problem?

Under the heading users in the admincp. Search for users. Clicking on this function..entering a name to search for. It brings up the start of every user with the starting letter A when you were searching for a persons name that started with an M. When this search comes up with all the users that start with A. I click the next page and it just keeps looping to the same page. It never changes pages. Hope this helps.

    Thanks,

    recently moved servers

I recently moved servers. When trying to use the find or search for users function in the admincp it pulls up all users. Any idea why this is happening?

    Thanks,
