Profiles vanished with 3.8.3 install

You may want to look at your error_logs (if you don't know where they are, ask your host) and see if they give a clue about what is going on also.

PS I did do a search for similar threads to try and solve this but they seemed to be related to other possible causes like template modifications.

Since I did a clean install of 3.8.3, people's profiles have vanished as has the ability to see 'who's online' -- both links bring up blank pages. The members list does come up however. Also in the Admin CP I now only get a brief single column of info on each user without any profile detail or the ability to see all the possible usergroups they can go into and so on.

I did have the forum set so that only registered users can see profiles.

Any idea how to fix this? I did a reinstall thinking that might correct it but I still have no profiles.
