  • Thread views error

    When running optimise/repaid tables, I keep getting this error beside 'Thread Views':

    Error: Table upgrade required. Please do "REPAIR TABLE `VBsearch`" to fix it!

  • #2
    Running the repair a second time should clear that error. Did you run it a second time?

      I ran it about 5 times.

        If that doesn't work then this may be too damaged to fix with the normal methods. Please check out this thread for other ways to repair a db, particularly items #2 and 3:

        You may have to ask your host to try and repair this for you.

          I've tried all 3.

          Number 2 gives me the error:

          Table 'threadviews' is marked as crashed and should be repaired

          Number 3 gives this error: (I have root access)

          myisamchk: error: File 'xxx_vb1' doesn't exist
          [email protected] [~]# myisamchk -r -u root -p xxx_vb1
          Warning: option 'key_buffer_size': unsigned value 18446744073709551615 adjusted to 4294963200
          Warning: option 'read_buffer_size': unsigned value 18446744073709551615 adjusted to 4294967295
          Warning: option 'write_buffer_size': unsigned value 18446744073709551615 adjuste d to 4294967295
          Warning: option 'sort_buffer_size': unsigned value 18446744073709551615 adjusted to 4294967295
          myisamchk: error: File 'root' doesn't exist

          I've also tried the database username instead of 'root'.

            Can this be fixed?

              At this point you will probably have to drop and recreate that table. To do that run these queries:

              DROP TABLE IF EXISTS threadviews;

              CREATE TABLE threadviews (
              threadid INT UNSIGNED NOT NULL DEFAULT '0',
              KEY threadid (threadid)
              );
