    By definition something did change. And since this is not something that happens with the default vB code then it stands to reason a modification is at fault.

    To troubleshoot this, first reupload all the original vB non-image files (except install.php). Make sure you upload these in ASCII format and overwrite the ones on the server. Also be sure to upload the admincp files to whichever directory you have set in your config.php file. Then run 'Suspect File Versions' in Diagnostics to make sure you have all the original files for your version and that none show 'File does not contain expected contents':

    Admin CP -> Maintenance -> Diagnostics -> Suspect File Versions

    [Note: In some cases you may also need to remove any of the listed .xml files in the includes/xml directory.]

    Next, disable all plugins.

    Note: To temporarily disable the plugin system, edit config.php and add this line right under <?php

    define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true);

    Then if you still have this problem, create a new style and choose no parent style. This will force it to use the default templates. Finally empty your browser cache, close all browser windows then try again. Make sure you change to the new style and view your forums with it.

    Do you have the same problem?

    So even though nothing has been changed all of a sudden something is going to start changing how links are handled?

    Nonetheless this is not something that happens with the default vB code. It's caused by a modification.

    We haven't installed any new mods and this just started happening a couple days ago

    That's usually due to a modification. Do you have a link where this happens?

    Link Issues

    I've run into a problem posting links in vBulletin. I've had 2 separate issues with the same results. In the first one some one else posted a hyperlink and when clicking on it I'm taken to a place in my forum to create a new thread.
    I've had the same thing happen when I, myself, created a regular link (not hyperlink) that took me to a place to create a new thread (rather than going to the destination of the link)

    Any idea why this would happen? I did try clearing cache and cookies nothing has changed.
