What is restore.php from? Whatever it is it's looking for files you do not have.

Note: The only consistently reliable method of backing up and restoring a database is with shell access via telnet or ssh. This is because backing up with a PHP script like that in the Admin CP or phpMyAdmin can result in PHP timeout errors and an incomplete backup file.

Steve cannot help you in this case (I mean in interpreting the messages of MySQLDumper).
This is a bug of MySQLDumper version 1.24 Release Candidate 1.2 (actually it is not a bug but a restriction of the server that only occurs on some server) that is already fixed in the developer version. This weekend version RC 1.3 will be released but you can download the actual version here: http://mysqldumper.svn.sourceforge.n...ar.gz?view=tar
      This should solve your problem.

      Have fun restoring your backup.

          no replies all weekend.... :]

well.. what worries me more then the (so far unsuccessful restore) the logs don't mention show anything besides threads deleted, i mean i can not tell how or what "they" did to get access/control over the forums.

Both 7Zip and Winrar can untar files on Windows. 7ZIP is free. Your issue right now is with MySQLDumper. Once you get your database restored, than we would be able to assist further.

uploaded the new (developer) version, and still errors.... some i got rid off, last one -that i think prevents the restore- i can't get rid off.

That would say the connection information is incorrect. Thought it is not a vBulletin error.

Have you asked your host to restore the database backup for you? Shouldn't take them more than a few minutes to SSH into your server and restore it.

                  what ?!

i re-installed MySQLDumpster, and instead of the default English i used Dutch.. no errors BUT, after the restore it says:

                  Congratulations.

The restoration of the database is done.
All data from the Backup file was restored.

                  Everything is done. :-)

You mean the posts, threads etc. of the backup?
In any way, you have to enter the same database information you entered in MySQLDumper in the vBulletin configuration file (includes/config.php)

                          1 more...

i have one more question regarding MySQLDumper.... yesterday while messing around i made a backup post restore, now i want to "restore" only the log files out of that backup and preferably not overwrite my current moderator logs.... anyone know how ?

                          thanks.
