How to set Default Usergroup on Registration?

The default usergroup will always be usergroupid '2'. If you try to change this then you will break vB. I strongly recommend not trying this.

Instead you should set the registered usergroup to the permissions you want then use usergroup Promotions to change specific users to other groups with different permissions. Here is the online documentation for user Promotions:

Hey I just upgraded my forums from invision power board to vB 3.8 using impex. I was trying to figure out how to set the default usergroup that the members are assigned to at registration.

I found this mod, but its for vB 3.4/3.6 :

Is there something I can change in the database? Or is there an updated mod I haven't found yet?
