file permision error when editing a post.

  • file permision error when editing a post.

    When i edit a post of one of the members on the forum, and when i wan't to upload a picture in this editted forum. i get an file permission error.

    when i check the server i have on my attachmend dir the file permission 777
    with owner rights root

    what could be wrong ?

    What is the exact error?

      this is the error message i get

      Upload Errors dcp_0781.jpg:
      File system directory is not writable.

        That means what it says. That directory is not world-readable.

        You need to make sure the attachment directory is chmod'd to 777 recursively, i.e.,

        chmod -R attachments_directory

          all dir's are chmod 777


          but i wil do it one's again

            Most likely the directory for that user does not exist and unless the attachment directory is chmod'd to 777 recursively the system will not be able to create that directory.
