How to stop spam attachment in new thread

I think that's quite a bit more than spam. That sounds like you've been hacked.

But I'm thinking you must have access to upload/download the files from the server - otherwise, how did you get the software up and running in the first place?

According to your site's Forum Leaders, you're listed as a moderator - you wouldn't have access to the admincp other than the very basics needed to be a moderator. You should probably have your admin replying to this thread.

Over the last 3 days of my complaining to the web company where I made the purchase and them not knowing what to do they have released the licence to me and thats how I now post here and have the supermod and admincp control . I log in as rebornrides for admincp not rolledb4. They originally configured the site and there is no added plug ins as some have stated . I did figure out how to shut them off as Steve said to but that didn't change anything . I'm not entirely sure how to do the rest he mentioned yet!

If you cannot upload files to your server then I'm afraid you don't have any way to troubleshoot of fix this. Who does have access to this hosting account?

Give me a specific task that I can try for this to prove I have admincp and then tell me where to go and I'll relay the info to you or hell I'll give you the access passwords to it so you can find something .

Do not include it in your forum.

Download and save the image to your harddisk.
Upload it to your server(webspace) and give us the link as:
http://yoursite.com/HappyBirthday62.jpg

Provided you can do that Steven would see that you are able to use an FTP client.

Kinda overwhelming when I'm stressed over all thats going on ! I'm a mechanic by trade and think different so I need it explained in a very simple manner.

I tired what you said to do using instruction from the net but the computer I'm on doesn't have access to the server they way I tried so I will most likely have to wait till monday to get the rest of the files from the webhosting company I will soon not be dealing with anymore . Unless someone knows a different way . right now the farthest I can get into the site with as much as I know is too log in ,go to the bottom of the page and re login again in admin and then I have access to all of those settings if those are any help . I really don't know where to look and further more don't understand what alot of it means without going back and forth onto the manuals here and on the net for reference info! You do have FTP access to your webspace or you do not have.
Provided you do:
You do need an FTP client such as FileZilla.
Create a folder on your webspace named: ftptrial
Upload some files there,delete some of them.
Play with it.
When you are confident with it then comes the time to do what Steven suggested.

From your responses I'm thinking you either don't have access or don't know how to upload files to the server your site is hosted on. It's not a crime, but it certainly puts you at a disadvantage.

You'll need to contact your host and ask them for an FTP login, which will consist of an ftp address such as ftp.yoursite.com, as well as a username and a password. This will be different than your username and password for your forum.

From there, get yourself an FTP program like Filezilla (free), as beishe8 suggested, that will allow you to upload and download your files. From there you'll be able to start following some of Steve's instructions.

Thank you ! Thats all I needed to know without knowing how to ask it initially. I will get all the things required on monday a shortly after I strangle my web guy for not doing his job in the first place. . I will attack this stuff again on monday morning first thing.

Why on earth would you think I would call you my web guy? I was talking about the guy who does our computer stuff and designed our logo (Which sure the hell wasn't you).

Sending an email to Amy to complain is cowardly in my eyes. All you did was install the upgrade to 3.8.3 and it messed up our admin panel. As for working for free don't get me started on that either. I called asking for support for the board YOU sold. You were more than compensated 10 fold for the overinflated price you attached on a board I could of bought for $183 and for the art design that my guy made and handed to you's to replace the kiddie art your people tried to pass off.

When you wrote us off on our one complaint I wrote you off completely after initially writing you off last year. " A bit harsh you state" please!!! Do you really want me to be? Because I could be a whole lot ruder here or in person if you rathered.

If I was you I would not entertain this problem any longer because as simple as it was to fix it's still miles above your companies capabilities and definately above yours. Now I have another issue to tend to after you upgraded our site and messed up more things while we were away .

This rant does not apply to any member of this site but rather to a guy who thinks highly of himself and his company and does not know anything he thinks he does and felt the need to cry over what he read here rather than just admit he did know what to do.

A big thanks to Steve M. ..Your advice early on worked great and once I understood it was an easy fix.

Some turned off settings by me and the human verification changed by the guy that was lurking here and crying to my manager in an email.

Once I set it all to default and changed the things I wanted changed more carefully all was fine again!
