  • URls in posts

I've been trying to get urls that are embeded in the posts to show just the URL as the description rather than using the title of the page the url points to.

I think there is an option in vB that need to be changed, but I cannot seem to find it. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Not sure I understand. Please try explaining again.

Let me see if I can explain this better. Let's say I create a post then add a url link in the post (.i.e. http://content.content.com/test/test.html) on a line by itself, vB converts the link to a URL link like the one below

      Code:
      This is a test page
I'm guessing that when the post is submitted, it's pulling the link title from the page title.

Most other sites that I see have the url showing up like this:

This is a feature that is included with vBSEO. I am not sure if there is a free third-party mod that can do this.

But it certainly isn't built-in functionality.

It all depends on what you wish to do. If you just add the url ( http://www.vbulletin.com ) it will show as a url. However, if you highlight the text and then add the url, you get this. Seems to me your site is working as designed.

Okay, I'm pretty sure I misunderstood your post at the time of my reply. My bad.
