  • Private Message Question

I was wondering, let's say a member who is offline receives 5 PM's while they are gone...When they log in, it shows only 3 new PM's, but then that member also realizes 2 other PM's that have been read but are still new to them...Is it possible this is some type of glitch that the messages have become 'read', but really haven't been? Or is the only explanation that an Admin has read it in the Admin CP?

    Thanks.

Since there is no option in vB for the Admin to read other people's PMs in the Admin CP I assume this is from an add-on you installed. That would be to only way I could see this happening.

Yes, it is an add on that we have installed. We had an issue lately that a member had read PM's that she had not read, but I'm just wondering if that's possible to happen without using the add-on to actually read them.

No, that cannot happen with the default vB code.

Okay, thanks. So that means an admin must have read them, correct?

Or another third-party add-on is causing this.

I hate to be a bother again, but do you know of what a third-party add on might be that would cause this? I'm not the usual person who goes into the Admin CP to add things like that...Thanks

No, not specifically, although the read PMs add-on is the most likely candidate. All I know is that this does not happen with the default vB code.
