As time passed, more and more sub folders and their content became inaccessible, until the main site itself wouldn't come up.

A server reboot took care of it, and all is now back to normal.

I guess I was just being paranoid, with the combined loss of access to the new, and control of the old.

Internet Explorer can show very vague messages unless you uncheck the "Show Friendly HTTP Error messages" setting in the Advanced Tab of the Internet Options box. It could have been a server error, (i.e. HTTP 500 - Internal Server Error), which could be a number of things.

I wouldn't suspect foulplay until you contact your hosting provider and ask them to look over your server.

Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

I had just finished typing up an Announcement and clicked Save, only to get a "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" message.

Since this, I have not been able to get to the vB test site.
I get the htaccess challenge, but beyond that is the error message.

Also, at the same time, it would appear that I have the same error if I try to access the Drupal Admin page (forum access is fine).

I can still ftp to the server.

    Should I suspect foul play?
Where should I look for code denying access like this?
