  • Rookie Qstn: Enrollment Text & icuForumStats

Can someone point me in the right direction? I want to re-write (and customize) the enrollment text for new members. Where do I go to start that process? And just for general study purposes...how big of a deal would it be to add a custom field to that process that forces the user to enter the name of their institution, and save that in their profile?

2nd, and this one is petty...but... Much like everyone else with a forum I'm assuming, I get a couple "ViagraDoMeSexMeUpNowBlahBlah" user registrations a week. I've got new users locked down with no rights to post or access forums until they have been moderated. However...those Unmoderated users still show in the "Welcome our Newest Member" line at the bottom of the home page. I like that feature, but would like the name that shows be the last moderated user... not the most recent user in the database. Is there a way to do that?

All language is in Phrases. Do a 'Search in Phrases' for the specific language you are looking for, then edit the appropriate Phrase.
Admin CP -> Languages & Phrases -> Search in Phrases

Note: To edit a phrase, place the new phrase in the available language text boxes.

You can create a new custom profile field through the AdminCP. AdminCP -> User Profile Fields -> Add New User Profile Field

There is no built in feature to display only the last moderated member in the "Welcome to our newest member" area. There may be a modification at www.vbulletin.org that can change this.

Lastly, see this thread for tips to reduce spam: http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=275800

All of those worked like a champ; thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

I also found a nice addon called "One Touch Cleanup and Ban" (http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=156444)
that drops a link on the user's profile page that delete's the user (or bans them depending on how you set it up), add's the email and IP to the restricted list all in one step...no fuss, no muss. It makes cleanup as easy as following new user links.

Thanks for the advice (and the super quick response).
