Or if you use cpanel, better use the Password Protect directories feature.

Yes, the license agreement allows you to set up a test board:

"If you have a valid license, you may set up an additional test forum in order to test code, template and database modifications. To make this clear to us and our license verification procedures, place it in a directory called 'testvb' and be sure to password protect it. It must not be accessible by the general public."

Do NOT use your live db for this. Install a new forum with a fresh db.

    Running Two Copy of vB

I want to design a new style for my vB but I don't want to upload it onto my real forum until I'm done.

Is it possible to install a second forum on my website, and use that to make all of the modifications, and then some how transfer those modifications to my ACP?

Would I need to install a second forum and hook it up to my same database as my real vB or a different database?

I don't want to interrupt my real forum while I am working on getting a new style made and working correctly.

Or can I just make it on my real vB but making a new style and not allowing anyone to choose that style until I'm done. What would be the best way?
