My forum is not working well with IE or maybe its vista

I have had a few members complain (When I say a few I mean about 10 or so) that the site keeps freezing, we have done all we can think of to fix this issue, well then I started to think, that maybe its nothing we have added or done, maybe its that 3.8.1 is not that user friendly with every operating system or browser. Just like when people upgrade from XP to Vista, you lose things.. However another forum I use to go to 3.7.0 there forum works great for these other members, we have the same chat box and everything, and my site is lagging.

Is there anyway around this? Anyway we can get this fixed?

One of your modifications in not compatible with IE. It could be an add-on or a template mod.

Try this. Create a new style and choose no parent style. This will force it to use the default templates. Then change to this style and view your forums with it. Do you have the same problem?

If you do, empty your browser cache, close all browser windows and try again.

If you do not have this problem with the original templates, then this means the problem is with one or more of your custom templates. You need to revert your templates, then redo your changes.

Problem is, I am not having the problem, its other members, I do not see the problem what so ever, and I do have IE 7 and I do not see the problem in it...

Then the issue is in their end, possibly an IE extension.

Im having this issue. i have tried all new styles, and it still does it. it only freezes when a member has Vista, and is using the shoutbox. it freezes for me at work on Vista. i have to completely close the browser, then re-open a new one, and it works fine. at my house on XP, it has no issues.

anyone else have any other ideas?

hmmm..

it didnt start having an issue until we switched servers and upgraded to 3.8.
it worked GREAT with 3.7

another part to it, is if i just watch the shoutbox, and dont reply, it works great. no freezing issues..... if i post in it. after a random amount of time. it freezes.

Post #6 still applies. Also we do not provide support for third-party add-ons such as the shoutbox.
