  • Database Help

    Problems have arrived over the weekend and I have no clue on what's going on. Here's what it says:
    Database error in vBulletin 3.7.3:
    Invalid SQL:
    SELECT COUNT(*) AS count FROM vb_post WHERE dateline >= 1237784400;
    MySQL Error : Table './tonycomi_forum/vb_post' is marked as crashed and should be repaired
    Error Number : 145
    Request Date : Monday, March 23rd 2009 @ 12:45:18 PM
    Error Date : Monday, March 23rd 2009 @ 12:45:18 PM
    Script : http://www.tonycomix.com/forum/admin...ex.php?do=home
    Referrer : http://www.tonycomix.com/forum/admincp/index.php?do=nav
    IP Address : 138.163.0.41
    Username : TonyComix
    Classname : vB_Database
    MySQL Version : 5.1.30
    I really have no clue what could have caused this because it says I was the last one who did something in the admincp and yet it surely shouldn't have caused this.

    To fix this run Repair/Optimize in the Admin CP. You may need to run it more than once to fix all errors:

    Admin CP -> Maintenance -> Repair/Optimize Tables -> Check All -> Continue

    If you cannot access the Admin CP you can also use phpMyAdmin to repair tables.

    If that doesn't work then this may be too damaged to fix with the normal methods. Please check out this thread for other ways to repair a db, particularly items #2 and 3:

    You may have to ask your host to try and repair this for you.

        Would this be a proper thread to discuss or suggest what might be causing the post table to crash? This exact same thing happened to me today. It also happened about a week ago. Both times it was the post table.

        I'm sure this is a broad questions, but any ideas where I should even start looking?

          In my experience this is always due to server issues. If it happens only occasionally then I wouldn't worry about it. If it happens a lot, then this is likely a problem with the server configuration or hardware itself.
