I am running my website in my VPS account.

Do I need to add these to help improve my forum performance?

Those are storage options for the datastore cache. They can help performance on really busy forums. You don't have to use them.

I am trying to find the best one to use. eAccelerator seems not to be supported with VB as well as xcache, but xcache has no updates since 2007.

I would like to know some opinions on the best from standpoint of performance, as well as community support.

The file cache option is easy to setup and can help performance. You just need to make the includes/datastore directory writable and enable the file cache option in the config file.
