  • How to host vbulletin static images in amazon S3

    Hello

We are currently using Amazon S3.

We would like to host our Vbulletin images or other static content in
    Amazon S3.

    Has anyone done this before?

Does anyone know which folders to move and what paths to change etc.

    Thanks

We are thinking about going this route as well. As I understand it, it should be as simple as:

    • Get your account on s3 set up
    • Use one of the many utilities like S3Fox to upload your image folders
    • Setup a CNAME record (something like images.domain.com) that points to your s3 hostname
    • And lastly, in vB options, setting your image paths to reflect your new paths on s3

Of course, that is all in theory and from reading some non vB specific tutorials, as we will be attempting this in our forum in the next few days...

Recommend you read this thread, as this has been discussed very nicely earlier:
