"recent forum activity" icon / time setting

I've looked around and can't seem to locate a way to change the time setting on this - I would like to increase the length of time in which the "recent forum activity" icon stays active. Some of my users may only check in once every couple days and to them it may appear at first glance that there has been *no* recent activity...

Use the database read marking system. Then the read markers will persist for several days:

Admin CP -> vBulletin Options -> General Settings -> Thread/Forum Read Marking Type
