That is not something that can be fought on the vB end. A DoS attack like this needs to be fought at the server level.

I've edited my post, regardless of the server issue I noticed a ridiculous increase of activity which is not true messing up my total guests online, causing the server to go offline and showing them in who's online in a wrong location. I've never had that much traffic specially due to opening the forums only two weeks ago.

This is a server issue. You'll need to contact your host about this. Here are the reasons for the MySQL server going away:

    Also from the MySQL site:

    Forum Attack.

Last night I received a major attack which caused the server load to be very high. My forums had tuns of guests online, which were not true and caused me to receive an inaccurate most users online number which I have reset. The who's online showed the users as browsing an unknown location. http://elitegn.net. "like this, no WW" very odd and never seen before. Now I notice I have over 1,000 e-mails of database error when it's all back to normal. My host labeled this as a heavy DDoS attack.

I show this in case someone experienced can identify the type of attack and maybe give some information on how to prevent it or a suggestion.

I'm having a bit of an issue with the Who's online location. As an admin, I have all 3 location permissions set to yes in the Admin Usergroup, so I should be able to see where a User is. However, For...
