  • Hide Avatars and Signatures to Guests

    Hi,

In order to spare valuable server resources and decrease page load times, is there an option to hide all the avatars and member's signatures from the guest's eyes?

And if I need to edit an template, where can I do that?

    Thank you.

I have done this on my forum, but I had to do it all manually, editing templates to have a condition to specify to show those items only if a viewer was in a certain usergroup.

      You can use these conditionals.

This will show only to members:

      <if condition="$show['member']"></if>

This will show only to guests:

      <if condition="$show['guest']"></if>

there's a free product vbseo put out called "conditional sigs". you can probably apply the same product the avatars with a little tweaking.

I need this option as well... to hide avatars and siggys from guests.

Fingers crossed it will be included in upcoming releases.

Thank you very much for posting how to tweak this.

It's very easy to do with template conditionals. You just need to edit the postbit or the postbit_legacy template (depending on which one you use).
