Social Groups - Categories not showing

Ok so ive gone into admincp - social groups - add new social group category thats fine it adds it with no problems at all, even in the social group listing in admincp it shows its there. go to the social groups on the forum cant see the listing there, push the link to show all groups and its not there either.

what seems to be the problem? how can i fix this?
