  • vbulletin refuses to send me a new member area password

I have bought (a couple years ago) two vbulletin "owned" licenses and all of the sudden I cannot log in the member area. My email has changed and now they say that they won't send a new password to one of the owned domain licences.

    This is really rediculous!!!!

    My support email:
Okay listen please, for privacy reasons I ask you politely to send the password to the domain owner of domain.com: [email protected]
This domain (domain.org) and domain.de have owned licences which also have the "3dsoft" forum account name on vbulletin.com. If this information is not enough to verify the account holder than we would have a case. I don't see any reason why you could possibly hesitate sending the account information to:

    Email: [email protected]
    And now their answer:
I have already sent the info to the original and current owner. I cannot send this anywhere else with the expressed knowledge and consent of that account owner.
The problem is that the email they have sent it to does NOT exist anymore!!!

This gotta be a joke. Please contact me as soon as possible or will have to file legal actions against YOU!

Yes, This is a problem I ran into when my internet access company was bought up by another company. They forced me to change my @ resolution, and it messed up all of the connections to my subscriptions. Not only at vBulletin, but a lot of other places as well.

The folks at vBulletin will work with you. Send them a concise email with your previous and current email addresses, explain the situation and provide all of the relevant information related to the account. They will investigate it and give you the appropriate credentials where warranted.

Threatening to sue somebody is never the right approach.
Anybody who says "it can't be done" will usually be interrupted by somebody who is already doing it.

I can not understand why they won't send the neccesary login data to one of the licenced domain? It just does not make sense. I have been trying to explain it to them but they just keep on giving prearranged answers. My account name 3dsoft for example should be also a proof that I am the owner of the licenced domains.

Your account name is not enough. You'll need your customer number, the customer password, and the license number just to get inside the gate.

Remember, this is for your protection as well as theirs.

This was all explained in your support ticket. You are not the license owner. We cannot give out private customer info without the direct knowledge and consent of the license owner. If we started doing that, then we would be violating the rights and property of our customers.

I understand you are frustrated, but the bottom line is that we can only provide this info the the legal owner.
