Thanks Colin, i've simply saved the file in the download/upload style section in the admincp

Again, those should not be lost at all.
You can download the style though, and then reupload it.

Also, the field i created disappears and i have to manually edit the postbit_legacy to put it back in again.
Just wondered if i could save something to keep these features and simply reload it if required

Your style isn't modified at all during an upgrade. Sometimes you're required to revert templates and reapply changes, but this is not done automatically.

Save Current Style
Ok, dumb question for today, i have some subtle changes for my forum skin that don't always carry over when i revert after a software upgrade or as in this case, an install up to 3.8.
I want to be able to save my current style, can someone tell the idiot's guide to it so that in the future i can simply just enable itTags: None
