  • Strange problem since upgrading.

Upgraded from the latest 3.7 to 3.8 RC2 and am having this problem

When people go to reply to a new thread, occasionally they'll be asked to download the newreply.php file

The server's configuration hasn't changed, only the VB version

    Any ideas? heh

That is almost certainly due to a bad file.

To troubleshoot this, first reupload all the original vB non-image files (except install.php). Make sure you upload these in ASCII format and overwrite the ones on the server. Also be sure to upload the admincp files to whichever directory you have set in your config.php file. Then run 'Suspect File Versions' in Diagnostics to make sure you have all the original files for your version and that none show 'File does not contain expected contents':

      Thanks Steve

Hmm, I've reuploaded all the files, manually set the transfer to ASCII and overwrote the existing ones
But, all the files are coming back with

global.php File does not contain expected contents

When doing the suspect version thing.

Perhaps you are uploading the wrong folder(version)?

vB5 is unequivocally the best forum software, but not yet...

Nay, I downloaded 3.8 RC2, ran the upgrade and have been uploading those files, none others.

I believe it's a problem with VBSeo, as disabling that, seems to stop the problem.
Although I'm still getting that problem with the suspicious file page, heh

Download a new fresh copy of 3.8.0 RC2 and upload it over the current files.
