Repair / Optimize Tables or Update Counters (Which to run first)

Dear vBulletin support, I have a simple question, I just upgraded to 3.8.7 latest build, and after updgrade i had to run the TOOLS.PHP for optimizing my tables and to make everything run again without errors! I contacted a friend who came over and took a look, I was told that I had not used the Optimize and Update Counters options that much, and true I didnt, I ran it almost ones every 6 month, But since the told me about it, I started to use it more often, Now my question is:

After many registrations and many threads and post, I usually run the Update Counters first, and as 2nd I run Repair / Optimize Tables! My question is, what is best to run first & 2nd?

Thank u very much in advance...

You should not run the Repair/Optimize Tables function at all unless there is a specific reason to do so.

The update tools are there for when you need to rebuild a particular cache, or do a recount of something. The Optimize/Repair tools shouldn't be used often.

Additionally, it doesn't matter in what order you run them because they are unrelated.

You shouldn't run Repair unless you are getting errors that the table has crashed (or something similar), and you shouldn't run Optimize unless you just pruned a colossal amount of data.
