Setting forum as main URL.....

ok, this is something I should totally know by now....but I'm confused. I've been searching, but have come up nil. (I don't think I'm searching with the correct terms).

Here's my SIMPLE question.

I'm going to erase one of my forums and start over.

How do I put my forum in a folder called /forum but have users go to www.myforumurl.com and be taken to www.myforumurl/forum?

Info: VB 3.8.6 PL1. I guess this would be considered a re-direct?

If you're going to have nothing sitting in the root directory, use an .htaccess file to create a redirect to the forum from there.

In Cpanel(or whatever else you have) there should be a very simple way to redirect without coding anything.

I don't use cpanel. I would really like to use a htaccess file to do this.
