datastore doesn't exist - ERROR - 2 hours with hostgator tech support - still problem

Just downloaded the zip file today.

3.8.4 Patch Level 1

Believe i set up everything right - no matter what nothing works. Always get:

I MANUALLY created the table datastore on the database and got this error

When you manually created the table, did you get all the proper properties for it from the mysql-schema and set it up correctly? Do you have any tables in your database?

From memory, you should have the following steps:

- Enter Customer Number
- Step 1: Check database connection
- Step 2: Check if database exists
- Step 3: Create Tables
- Step 4: Alter Tables
- Step 5: Add Data

How far did you get through that list?

no i didnt creat the table fields. i created the table as a test. just to see if it was connecting. obviously the install script is atleast connecting, because it gave me that second error.....?

 unserialize SMALLINT NOT NULL DEFAULT '0',
 PRIMARY KEY (title)
)

Then try running the installer again and see what happens

Apologies for that - noticed afterwards but wanted to check something first before correcting...

That error I've quoted is strange as there isn't a file called 'image.php' in the default 3.8.4 install (unless it's part of the AdSense package?). Have you got anything else in that 'forums' directory other than the contents of the 'upload' folder that came with your vB download?

totally empty directory

just dragged everything from the UPLOAD over to the root

got no forums directory

please god help me

If you have no forums directory, you might want to try running the installer from the correct path instead:
