  • Language problems after moving

    I have moved my forum to a different hosting and having problems now with language appearance. I use 2 languages Russian and English. Inside the DB (charset: utf-8, collate: cp1251_general_ci) I see all chars fine, so nothing was lost during the transition, but forum shows instead of Russian chars question marks "?????"
    I tried to reinstall Russian package, deleted-installed - nothing helps.
    read this thread and tried to set $config['Mysqli']['charset'] = 'utf8'; in the config - gives an error.

    Please help! I am so close, but something is not there yet.
    Here is a temporary link to my forum

    Could someone comment on following:

    Is there a place in options to tell vBulletin about MySQL's servers charset and database collation? Config.php perhaps?

    I guess the problem is in the way how connection to MySQL is made. I think it made with a wrong charset and/or collation.

      found this in file class_core.php:

      Code:
      				$this->sql = "SET NAMES $charset";
      				$this->execute_query(true, $link);
      something must set $charset var...

      and why if I set in config file

      Code:
      $config['Mysqli']['charset'] = 'utf8';
      I get following error on my all pages:
      Code:
      Warning: array_keys() [function.array-keys]: The first argument should be an array in [path]/includes/functions.php on line 4227

      Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in [path]/includes/functions.php on line 4227

          I found out what to do in those situations from other threads - open a support ticket, which is I did

            In the light that I know it is a default connection which gives me trouble I need to set in config file

            Code:
            $config['Mysqli']['charset'] = 'utf8';
            But why am I getting this error?
            Code:
            Warning: array_keys() [function.array-keys]: The first argument should be an array in [path]/includes/functions.php on line 4227

            Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in [path]/includes/functions.php on line 4227
            Please tell me possible reasons. Where to look, may be inside DB...
            Thank you!
