    MySQL to MySQLi change

    Hi

I Installed VB 3.8.2 the other week, but when I set the install preferences I used MySQL rather than MySQLi because I didn't know at the time that my server was compatible.

Since then I've added a few mods, none of which use any additional codes or installed aps, so it's still pretty much untouched.

I installed VB 3.8.3 today with no trouble at all.

I no wish to change it to use MySQYi.

Can I just close the forum, edit the config.php and change the switch to MySQLi then re-open the forum?

Or do I have to back-up the database, re-install VB 3.8.3 form scratch remembering to choose and set the MySQLi options, then import the back-up or something.

I don't want to lose any of the data in my database.

Sorry if this is a really silly question, bare with me though as i've only been at it for 6 days!
