  • URGENT Members without permission seeing reported posts

    Since the latest upgrade all members are receiving the reported post notification even though they do not have permission to see reported posts but if they click it they get the message that they don’t have permission to view.

    This is an urgent issue as someone could see the report about themselves as they get the preview.

    After further investigation it seems that some members have the new moderation options in their notifications panel, even though they are not moderators. That’s why they are receiving notifications but the option should not be there.

      Do those users own blogs or social groups?

          Any news on this or should I open a support ticket?

            No news. Will look at your site today. A support ticket shouldn't be necessary.

                I don't see anything with the permissions that would cause this. What usergroup are the users experiencing the issue placed in?

                  Same primary user group Registered user. But different additional Usergroups, for example

                  Removing member user name - member area access + Xxxx
                  Forumtesting - member area access + Politics

                    Both of those users are moderators... They are moderators of the RomaClub Members Only Section channel. A user does not need to be placed in a Moderator usergroup in order to be assigned to moderate a channel. The usergroup is there because customers wanted a usergroup to organize moderators into.

                    Channel Management -> Moderator Permissions.

                      Wayne Luke thank you so much for your time on this, please know it is very much appreciated.

                      I get that the testing user was in there as it’s what we test settings with, but not the other.

                      Strange that they only started getting the flag reports after the latest upgrade too, nothing before then.

                      Worth knowing that someone made a moderator doesn’t automatically get put in the moderator user group too so we will keep checking the channel permissions from time to time.
