  • Limitng number of smilies in a post

Is there a way to limit the number of smilies used in a post?

I've look all through the admin settings but can't find anything.

Some members go crazy and add little text but loads of smilies

Hi, did you try the "Maximum Images Per Post" function to see if that would help?

Thanks for your reply. I did check that but it says not including smilies.

      Maximum Images Per Post
Set this to the maximum number of images (not including smilies) you wish to allow per post. Set this to 0 to disable the images count.

I guess this was finally made into separate functions. For the longest time smiles and photos were counted together. Now, like you, I want to know where to set this limit. It may be different in the vbcloud version than the self-hosted software too. hmmm... Does anyone know where to set this limit?

I don't believe there's any way to limit smilies in posts now. It used to be controlled by the maximum images setting but many customers complained about that so it was excluded.

Thanks Mark. I’m sure it used to work because I remember setting it. Must have been taken away as you say
