  • Cname/ sub domain set up for cloud forum

When we set up our cloud forum 2 years ago I created a sub domain “community” which put an empty folder on the server called community

i then set up a cname called community and pointed it to the vBulletin code that support sent us

    forum works fine.

we are now moving to a new server and they say the sub domain on the server can be deleted as only the cname is required. Is this right?

Don't want the forum to stop working after the move.

Thanks Wayne. Appreciate your fast response.

      I obviously misunderstood the instructions.

If you use cPanel, it can create directories with certain actions. Even if they are not needed.

Thanks Wayne, everything is working fine after the move plus the SSL certificate which I asked about in another thread and the forum is not affected in anyway.
