  • Twitter Cards For Cloud?

    Such a thing?

  • #2
    I'm not too familiar with how these work, as I'm not a big Twitter user. Are they similar to embedding a Tweet? if so you should be able to add one to an html module on Cloud.

      TBH I only just first summited my first card recently.. and I hear it takes a few weeks to be approved.. so not 100% on how it works..

      But I had to input meta tags on the site I submitted.. then I had to validate it on a page.. and told to wait sometime..

      So would I just put the meta tags in the CSS? Or in a HTML module like you said.. is that the same as a regular website of just HTML?

      The website I submitted was www.synthwave.fm so when I post the domain on twitter.. it should show the youtube playlist as a playable video embeded on Twitter..

      I just wondered if news articles would work the same.. even if it's just regular pictures..

        Apparently it's instant or 24 hour validation if you do the meta tags right.. maybe this one might be better off in the tracker forum?

          Just add your validation tags to one of the boxes for Search Engine Validation under Settings -> Options -> Search Engine Tools. Remember to turn on the one you use so the code gets submitted. If you already have code in these boxes, then add your new code on a new line.

              You'd have to look at Twitter's documentation. We already include the Meta Description tag. Using the method above, you would only be able to use one summary for the entire site. If you need further customization, you would have to create a "Feature Request" JIRA here:

                So I don't input the tags or scripts etc?

                Or I do include the meta tags?

                    This is what I put in the Google Analytics seach tools..

                    (function(i,s,o,g,r,a,m){i['GoogleAnalyticsObject']=r;i[r]=i[r]||function(){
                    (i[r].q=i[r].q||[]).push(arguments)},i[r].l=1*new Date();a=s.createElement(o),
                    m=s.getElementsByTagName(o)[0];a.async=1;a.src=g;m.parentNode.insertBefore(a,m)
                    })(window,document,'script','https://www.google-analytics.com/analytics.js','ga');

                    ga('create', 'UA-105589740-1', 'auto');
                    ga('send', 'pageview');

                    <meta name="twitter:card" content="summary">
                    <meta name="twitter:description" content="www.boxingworld.news">
                    <meta name="twitter:domain" content="https://www.boxingworld.news">
                    <meta name="twitter:image" content="https://www.boxingworld.news/core/css/0/0/2/8/6/3/images/icon.png">
                    <meta name="twitterlayer:height" content="1000">

                        Do not use Google Analytics setting. It is not inserted in the <head> tag which the Twitter tags needs to be. And besides, that setting is for Javascript code only. Use the Search Engine Validation settings as Wayne suggested.

                          There's 3 boxes to choose in Search Engine Tools..

                          Google Analytics Javascript
                          Google Ownership Verification HTML tag
                          Bing Ownership Verification HTML tag

                          Which one do I put the meta data in?

                            With ownership it says I have to upload a file.. but is that possible with cloud?

                            I haven't looked into the Bing one yet..

                              It isn't. You have to use the Alternative Meta Tag method provided. However, you don't need to verify with Google to put whatever meta tags you want in that field.
