  • Can't change the time zone

    Hey everyone,

We´ve got a problem with our time zone. I am not able to change the time zone. Summertime is active and it still shows the wrong time (1 hour before). Deactivating the summertime leads to a delay of 2 hours (before). How can I set up the correct time in vBulletin 5 Cloud?

    Greetings

Go to the front-end of your site. Click on your username in the top right corner. Select User Settings. On the next page click on the Account Tab. Scroll down to the Time Zone settings and adjust them as necessary for your view of the site.

And yes, every user is responsible for their own time settings.

      Hello,

You should submit a ticket and ask them to add this within a .htaccess file:

      php_value date.timezone "whatever-timezone-you-need"
      OR
      SetEnv TZ Whatever-timezone-you-need

Either one of the above should work depending on the environment.

      Kind regards,
      George.

That isn't something that will happen with Cloud. All cloud sites share a single set of files. I don't even think there is a real directory to store an .htaccess file.

Maybe the wrong default timezone has been defined in the AdminCP...?

          Hey guys

          thanks for your replies!
wayne Luke: that was the problem. I had to change the timezone on my personal profile. Too bad, that you have to change this on your own, although it was set correctly in the AdminCP :/

The Timezone used in the AdminCP is used for guests and as a default for new registrants. AS your account was created "outside the system", so to speak, it requires special handling. Most of your users should have the correct time zone. Though if you change it in the future, the value on their individual accounts will override it. This allows someone like myself to see times in my Time Zone (Los Angeles, Ca) and you to see them using your UK Time Zone. In the long run it provides a better user experience.
