  • vbCloud site showing as "risky" on some corporate computers

I have some members who are trying to access my forum from work and their firewall/proxy servers are saying that the website is "risky". Does this have anything to do with how the vbCloud sites are hosted?

Should people at work really be browsing your site from their work computers? Probably not. Its likely that their internet has a website blocker that blocks content like anything they want, including forums. Many sites are blocked for people at work. That person would really need to talk to their work IT and find out why its blocked. But that is a discussion your user needs to have with their employer.

Not sure if you fixed this but I found the fix for myself. At work they use mcafee web gateway which filters websites. I put in requests here http://trustedsource.org/ and was able to get it unblocked.

That'll work for some employers. Others use systems where THEY control the blacklist (or whitelist) and the only way to get the site unblocked would be to convince them to unblock it.

That's true but but unless they have to manually whitelist each website they most likely use a third party. I also got mine google verified as well and not sure if that helped. Either way can't hurt.

It's easy for companies with strict internet usage policies to produce a white list of about a dozen sites and set things up so ONLY those sites can be accessed. I know, I've worked in places where it's been done.
