Show the local provider your other offer and ask him if he is able to compete. But for colo I would go for the local one (maintenance).

    Colocation vendors

I'm looking into two colocation vendors.

One of them is Deru (http://hosting.deru.net/), which is connected to five major backbones through an OC12 line. They charge $40/month for a 1u design rack lease (plus $100 setup fee) and $135/month for a fully-burstable line which includes 50gb/transfer. They also provide 5 IP addresses initially and can assign more at no additional cost if 80% are used. Deru is a local company. I am eligible to receive a 10% discount. I am also trying to negotiate for a lower monthly rate.

On the other hand, AIT (http://www.aitcom.net/) offers a $79/month package which includes 80gb/transfer. The setup fee is waived and there is no rack space lease fee. They offer 2 IPs initially (although I don't know how much each additional IP costs thereafter). They also claim to be connected through an OC-192 line. I cannot name a single problem with them except that they're not local.

Having a local vendor is important to us. It allows us to add parts and maintain the server. What would you do in my shoes?
