  • Thinking about moving to Dedicated

I have 2,500 members, 50GB bandwidth per month, 60-100 average online (max 200), 250 post per day and growing rapidly.

I am thinking about going dedicated on VO, but don't know what to choose. I have two options.

    First, VP's dedicated

    1.13 GHz Pentium III SCSI
    256 MB SDRAM
    18 GB SCSI Hard Drive
    50 GB Monthly Transfer
    8 IPs
    $199 (+cpanel option $30= $229)

    or VO's dedicated specials

    Pentium III 933
    256 MB SDRAM
    40 GB IDE Hard Drive
    50 GB Monthly Transfer
    8 IPs
    $160 (+cpanel option $30= $190)

    My question is,

Is 256MB memory enough for my forum? Or should I go for 512 instead?

    SCSI worth it?

    Any comment?

    Thanks in advance.

I have no opinion on whether the SCSI is worth the extra cost, but definitely go for as much RAM as you can afford.

yes scsi is worth it as it lessens cpu usage and is alot faster for database intensive purposes

          It's growing too fast

SCSI and as much memory you can afford, no point in in 256RAM.
