        I use CuteFTP and mine is right there -- are you sure you have an htaccess file already in there? If not, you may want to create one and put it on your public_html (or similar) directory

          (I'm 95% sure this is a server setting so changing clients isn't necessarily going to fix it. But sorry, I don't know what the setting is.)

                  to see .htaccess files in telnet issue this command

                  ls -al

                  or you can edit the file

                  pico .htaccess

                    your problem is the . in front of it. that makes it hidden. what you have to do is theres a option called "remote filters" or something... just put "-al" (w/o the quotes) into that box and it should work fine

                      use 'custom list' in the FTP clients settings...
                      type in the box after it: 'al' (without quotes, DUH)
                      :D:):p:rolleyes::cool:

                        Edit/Filter/Option

                        Check Enable remote filters

                        Remote filter: -a

                        Don't switch clients if you like CuteFTP over this one...

                          Just for clarification, to do that in WS_FTP, click "Connect", choose the profile you use to connect, then click the "Startup" tab, and enter

                          -a

                          in the "Remote file mask" box. Hit apply, then OK.
