    Cost per year: 1.700 euro

From your experience can you suggest a better server at the same cost or cheaper? But let's say at same cost for now

    Many thanks
It depends on your forum size and traffic. I've seen VM/Cloud packages that handle more traffic than a low end dedicated box.

That is a decent price for a managed server, I believe. I don't think any reputed host would be able to give you any cheaper rate for similar configuratation. If you are looking to reduce the cost, may be you need to look for unmanaged servers.

At that price I'm guess it's managed?

The best place to look really is

    http://www.webhostingtalk.com/forumdisplay.php?f=36

I've had some really good deals from there.

Example my current server I got from an offer there is an unmanaged
    E3-1270
    16 gb ram
    2 x 1 tb sata raid 1

I get that for $99 / month, or using some currency maths the equivalent of about €937/ year
Like I said that is unmanaged whether you need managed or not is up to your skill set
With a bit of looking on webhostingtalk I'm sure you'll find a great deal
