  • Need dedicated server [ 130k users / 2k online users ]

    Hi,

I spent months moving from one dedicated server to another without success!

My forum has 130k registered users with 2k users online

    My current dedicated server is CentOS 5 x64 Processor Intel Core 2 Quad - 2.50 GHz - 8GB RAM - 2.5GB Bandwidth

But still my server goes down if more than 1.5k users are online!

I have followed all vbulletin optimization but without success!

Please guide me to a right host.

Do you know what the problem is? Do you need more CPU power, less I/O wait?

Thanks royo for your input. The problem I don't know what is the cause of the problem as my current host doesn't provide any suggestion/investigation! My site is working fine when the online users are below 1500, so is it logical that my current server Intel Core 2 Quad - 2.50 GHz - 8GB RAM will not accept more than 1500 online users at a time?

Have you had your server optimized? Its possible you may need more hardware to cope.

Yes, I did optimized my server according to your recommendation in this forum.

Back to my question, 1.6GB database size with 130K registered users and 2k online users, what is the minimum server's hardware?

Please suggest for me a dedicated server host!

did you implement all suggestions made at https://www.vbulletin.com/forum/show...zation-Request ? if not then i can see how you still have problems

might need a retune you can use mysqlmymonlite.sh script to get the info needed and start a new server config forum thread

You may need a better set up. May be a dedicated database server and another web server, at this moment. 2000 users is too much for a single server to handle, even if the specs are good.

Use a specialist dedicated host like Softlayer who can give you servers of better configuration. Or something like IWeb, who should be happy to help you find the right solution for you.

You may also consider optimizing the server and code, some VB plugins could make a lot of performance issues when the data / traffic is high.
