One that is good, doesn't matter under what category it falls under, as long as its good.

Does anybody know which hosting company vbulletin has? or do they have their own server?

Vbulletin are actually hosted on a cluster of servers. You really need to figure out what category you fit under, one thing that can tell you is the number of users you have online on average. If you're just starting a shared hosting that doesn't oversell will work out great.

Right now I have netfirm, but I keep having problems, the forum gets super slow, when there is not even a lot of people on, I need a server that can handle a lot of traffic and wont cause any problems

                          I would recommend these

                          For shared:
                          HostGator

                          For VPS:
                          KnownHost
                          JaguarPC

                          For dedicated:
                          SoftLayer
                          HostGator
                          ThePlanet

They do. But if you are looking for managed dedicated servers, thePlanet is not an option. Hostgator is good if you want a managed server at decent price, but they do not provide enough upgrade options. Liquidweb may be better option.
