I'd go with the xeon server, but for $200/month you should be able to get dual cpu, with dual core.

I'd shop around on some other top5 dedicated server providers.

I'd also reconsider getting a control panel. If you know what you're doing or willing to learn, a unmanaged / cpanel free solution might help speed up things too. And also lower the costs.

the planet has a dual xeon 3.2 for $150/month with 500gb traffic and fast enough hdd and enough ram : http://www.theplanet.com/dedicated-s...rver-specials/

If you are willing to spend $200, you can upgrade the server during order to get the most out of it. It's perhaps better than getting a $200 and trying to upgrade that.

And if you are quick and on top of things, you could perhaps get a pretty cheap dedicated solution from staminus : http://staminus.net/?link=servers - i am sure at the end of the month they will introduce their new servers

Few days ago there was electrical explosion and fire at a Houston data center operated by above host which has affected many thousands of customers [ I hope you know about such disaster ] I am not sure how reliable and safe they are now

vBulletin.com runs on theplanet and my own dedicated box too. It seems we are still up with great uptime and performance.
