  • Is this Normal !!?

    Hi ,
I'm having a troubles in my server these months .. It's hosted in a dedicated server with this specification :

    INTEL-PENTIUM-2.8
    RAM: 2048MB
    Primary Storage: 80GB Hard Drive
    Secondary Storage: 40GB Hard Drive
    Drive Controller: IDE/SCSI
    Control Panel: Cpanel with Fantastico
    Plesk Language Pack: None
    Operating System: Fedora Core 4
    Private Switch: None
    Uplink Port Speed: 100Mbps uplink
    Pro-Active Monitoring: None
    Offsite Backup Space: None
    Hostname: server.cksu.com
    Security Plan: None
    Data Center: DataBank DC
And only one big forum is hosted on it with an average 350 user / at the moment ... the memory and CPU is totally used in the peak time and the site get down !

Is that normal according to the specification above ?
what is the suggested fix plan for such situation ?

    Thanks ,

If it's a problem with RAM being used too much by Apache / MySQL, you may want to take a look at this guide. It is made by a VPS company but I am sure it'll work on any server.

You can also post in Server Optimization (with the information they need) to get some help with your server.
