  • vbulletin on f2s

    I've installed vbulletin on f2s.com.

f2s is definetely the best free webhost (I know) , but gives you only 5 MB MYSQL.

How many entries do you think I can have with this (disabled avatars and pm) ?

sorry, this doesnt answer my question but i am using the same services as you are. Can we host more than one vBulletin board with the same MySQL database?

i don't see the pointing of paying soo much money for vbulletin and running it on a free host that gives you only 5MB.

True - which makes you think if they are legit copies they have installed.

In my opinion, anyone who spends $85/$160 on vB and hosts it on a free account is dodgy.
I mean, urm why not pay $15 for a decent REAL account where u are not as restricted as the free accounts?

          ah well

Why spend the extra $15 US a month when you dont have to?

I haven't had any problems with F2S so far.

Maybe because you want a reliable host who allows other people to hyperlink to your site? Maybe because you want a host that allows you to have more than about 1000 posts? Who knows.

so what is the maximum number of posts we can have (approximately) if we disable images, avatars, and private messages on a 5mb database?

Not many. There's no real way to approximate.

Maybe 2500. But I think that's probably pushing it.

Why spend at all money on hosts?
I've seen some that doesn't give you any limits at all,
And they actually do what they promise.

I've had no problems with neither of them yet.

Have you seen hosts that give you free 25 MB MySQL db, are never offline, are stable, fast, and free? If you have, I'd like to know who they are.

                          Name2Host

                          Have u check out:

                          http://www.name2host.com/

For just US$25 per year .. u get a domain name plus 50MB of space .. plus MySQL plus PHP ..

I've tested vbulletin on both name2host and f2s .. and name2host is definite faster ..

                          Surely u can afford US$25 ..

I thought this board wasn't going to supoprt vb use on free servers anymore. I find it tough to believe someone will spend $160 for vBulletin, but not $10/month to host it....
