  • SQL Server only?

    Hi,

I am pretty happy with my current hosts HTTP service, and their email forwarding etc etc etc. But their SQL server, and their capability to run it? Pathetic - I could run a better server on my XP box (and have).

I am looking for a cheap and reliable vBulletin capable SQL server - that's it. Preferably UK based to avoid comms delays between the HTTP and SQL servers. Other than it being known to work with vB and not extortionate in price, that's it really...

    Tim.

You are honestly better off switching hosts rather than splitting up HTTP and MySQL in a shared hosting environment.

I agree with what JoshS said, not to mention the possible security implications of splitting it across different hosts / networks
