  • This is not an ad - just props for a good outfit

I signed up w/ Infinology's service. It's very inexpensive (US $6), lots of storage space and bandwidth, and easy to configure. I just uploaded my files last night and I'm almost done w/ the configuration . Now if I can just figure out the pesky HTML issues...

      This isn't bad for 6.95 a month (sorry - i thought it was $6).

      2 GB Storage Space
      2,000 POP 3 Email Accounts
      50 GB/Month Web Traffic
      15 Sub-Domains
      10 FTP Logins
      10 Domain Parking
      Up to 5 Domains Supported
Perl / Full CGI Access / PHP
      MySQL (10 Databases)

I like that they support multiple domains on one user account. Their user control panel is very good, and they are reasonably easy to get ahold of if anything goes wrong. The only possible downside is that you have to prepay for a year - they don't tell you that up front.

I wouldn't prepay for a year with a company that give so much bandwidth for so little cost.

        Just going by bandwidth alone..
        50GB/month at $6.95
Typical server - say $200/month with 1000GB Bandwidth
        1000 / 50 = 20 accounts that size to one server
        $6.95 * 20 = $139/month

Even if they didn't have a powerful server in a higher end DC, that would mean very little profit, or even none, if they weren't overselling.
Then you have to count their other techs, one off costs like script licenses and many other things.

It doesn't add up, does it.
