  • diff/patch » how to use it for mysql TEXT?

(This will be my first post in vBulletin.com(munity), so feel free to welcome me! )

Is there any way to diff a text string taken from mysql against some default text? And how about applying a patch to this text?
    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance!

Welcome! Unfortunately I don't know the answer to your question but hopefully someone will.

      Thank you!

I thought about it, and I thought about it ...
And it seems the only way might be having rw access to a temp dir and generating files with each content in order to execute the diff command on them and aplying the patch!
But this one seems just like a very good way of wasting proc time

There seems to be no other way ...
Had to use files for this, just hope it doesn't affect performance so badly
