  • how can i check to see if a script's running right?

my site's currently undergoing some Interland screw ups. My php pages load fine but sometimes i lose connection to my data base cause mysql can only handle 21 simultaneous actions, and sometimes my passthru commands fail & i get "fork errors" which are all signs of server overload.

i'd like to be able to evaluate a script before its value is returned to the browser.

i read that the eval function doesn't really do that -- or you can't do an if / else in anycase on it.

is there a way for me to be able to do this in an if {loads fine } else {isn't going to load} case?
